Our mice
Take a look here and get to know our mice a little better.

Left to right, River, one of our females (turned out to be a male and was sold)
Rain, our male
Willow, our other female
Pictured above, our new female Koko. These african pygmy dormice are housed in a 60x45x45 exo terra vivarium. In this viv they have many branches to climb acrossed, a exo terra hide (which they prefere to sleep in), 2 nest boxes and some tubes to hide in and run through.
We are planning on getting 2 more females in the next 3 months to add to this group so watch this space!

Fancy mice
Flower (pearl fox girl)
Parents: black self (annastasia) X PEW longhaired satin |
About our fancy and naked mice. all our does live together in a large glass fish tank with a wire mess lid (this is soon to become a 3 foot exo terra). All the bucks are kept seperate in plastic rodent tanks (soon to be 30x30x30 exo terras). We will not breed any doe until she is at least 10 weeks old, the doe will have a maximum of 4 litters, with a rest period of at least 3 weeeks after her pups have been weaned and will not be bred from once she turns 14 months old. At this point 1 of 3 things will happen. She will either; become a nanny, be rehomed or be moved into our retirement tank. We dont handle any pups until 4-7 days of age. All pups will be weaned and seperated at 4 weeks of age, put into the nursey section to be reserved at 2 weeks old and they will then be ready for rehoming at 5 weeks. Pups will be weighed every other day from the day they start being handled. This is to
ensure that the pups are all healthy when they leave us. |
Striped grass (zebra) mice
We now have a group of 6 zebra mice (5 female and 1 male). These are called Jorja, Nilah, Javin, Hartlyn, Pepper and Heaven. Our zebra mice live in a 90x45x45cm exo terra vivarium. this viv does look very bare at the moment but within a couple of weeks, they will have loads of things to hide in and climb on.
